General Information

What is the focus of this accelerator program?

Our program is designed to support early-stage startups across various industries. We provide a mix of accountability, practical skills, and mentorship, culminating in a pitch/demo day where investors are invited to attend.

When does the program run?

The program runs from January 6, 2025, to March 28, 2025. It includes weekly sessions on topics critical to startup success, and concludes with a Demo Day on March 28, 2025.

How long is the program?

The program lasts 12 weeks.

Where does the accelerator take place?

The accelerator takes place in person in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Virtual options are available for some sessions, but you must be able to attend in person for 50% of the sessions.

Application Process

When does the application process open and close?

The application process opens on October 12th, 2024, and closes on November 10th, 2024.

How do I apply?

You can apply by filling out the online application form on our website starting October 12h, 2024. Ensure that all required fields are completed, and submit your application by November 10th, 2024.

What information do I need to provide in the application?

You will need to provide details about your team, your product, your market, and your business model.

Is there an application fee?

No.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Startups at the early stage of development are encouraged to apply. There are no specific industry requirements; however, your product should demonstrate innovation and scalability.

How can I prepare for the application?

Ensure that you can clearly articulate your startup’s mission, vision, and progress to date.Review your business model, market strategy, and team structure and communicate your enthusiasm for learning and growing your business in your application responses.

Selection Process

What happens after I submit my application?

After the application deadline, our team will conduct an initial screening to ensure all applications are complete and meet our eligibility criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews between November 18th and December 2nd, 2024.

How will I be notified if I’m selected for an interview?

If you are shortlisted, you will receive an email invitation for an interview on November 12th, 2024. The email will include details on how to schedule your interview.

What should I expect during the interview?

The interview will last 20-30 minutes and will be conducted virtually. We will ask you about your startup’s vision, progress, challenges, and future plans. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the program.

When will I find out if I’ve been accepted into the program?

Final decisions will be made by December 6th, 2024. Accepted startups will receive an acceptance package with further details about the program.

What are the selection criteria?

We look for strong teams with a clear vision, innovative products, and a scalable business model. We also consider market potential, traction, and the ability to benefit from our program.

Program Details

What is expected of participants during the program?

Participants are expected to attend weekly sessions, engage with mentors, complete assignments, and actively participate in all program activities. The goal is to help you grow your startup, so the more you put in, the more you’ll get out of it.

What kind of support can I expect?

You’ll receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts, access to a network of investors, and resources to help you scale your business. We also offer workshops and office hours to address specific challenges.

Do I need to give up equity to participate?

No.

Is there funding available?

Yes! We are excited to be able to support companies with a stipend of $5,000. This will be paid out in 3 payments over the course of the program. More details will be shared with successful applicants.

What happens on Demo Day?

Demo Day is the culmination of the program. You’ll present your startup to a group of investors, mentors, and industry leaders. This is your opportunity to showcase your progress and secure potential investment.

Will the program be in person or virtual?

Please only apply if you are able to be in person 50% every week of the program. It will be a blend of in person and virtual, but the in person components are critical to your successful completion of the program.
